Frequently Asked Questions
-
When you hire a mobile tech, you communicate directly with the person working on your RV. At a dealership, you’re usually dealing with a service manager and may never meet the technician who did the job.
Dealership appointments often come with long wait times—sometimes weeks out. In contrast, mobile techs can usually schedule you within just a few days.
A mobile tech comes to you, so there’s no need to move your RV.
A mobile tech is usually cheaper than the dealership.

Factory Mistakes Are Common
RVs are largely hand-assembled on fast-paced production lines.
Even new units often have loose wires, plumbing leaks, misaligned doors, missing sealant, or improperly installed components.
A “new” RV doesn’t always mean “flawless.”
2. Catch Issues Before the Warranty Starts Ticking
An inspection helps document problems before you drive off the lot.
This gives you leverage to have issues fixed under warranty or by the dealer—not out of your pocket later.
3. Dealers Don’t Do Full Inspection
Dealer PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) is often rushed or incomplete.
A third-party RV inspector works for you, not the dealership, at HERO-RVTech We check all major systems (150+ point check), 80-100 Photos compiled in a clear easy-to-read report.
4. Safety First
A certified inspection checks LP gas systems, brakes, tires, and Life Safety Issues, and all critical components.
This can prevent dangerous conditions or breakdowns on your first trip.
5. Peace of Mind
You’ve just spent tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. An inspection helps ensure your RV is ready to use and reliable.
It’s especially valuable if you’re planning a cross-country trip or full-time living right away.
6. Think of it as a home inspection
You pay for a home inspection on a brand new construction, why wouldn’t you on your RV?

The only way we handle warranty work is if the customer pays upfront.
Unfortunately, working directly with warranty companies often takes up a lot of time and usually isn’t worth the effort.
However, I’m happy to provide you with a detailed invoice that you can use to file your claim with the warranty company. I’m also more than willing to speak with them directly if they need to verify any information. In short, you pay me first, and then you handle the claim with your provider.

Our insurance policy is only available to certified RV technicians with mobile businesses.
Since we are a mobile business, we are not insured to perform work that needs to be done by a certified automotive shop.
Our policy excludes us from working on motorized RV drivetrains (motors & brakes) and performing towing services. We are insured to work on trailer brakes and suspension.
Additionally, we do not work on Black Tanks, Gray Tanks or any rig older than 2010-year model.
-
We do not work on structural components of the RV, for example, replacing walls, flooring or a roof.
We diagnose and troubleshoot components and appliances, then repair or replace what is broken. We perform routine maintenance to extend the life of your RV so structural issues don't occur from water damage.
